Sound and Light service providing Industry have been catering to the various needs of mankind during, festivals, events, elections, in temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras and various religious places of worship since more than a century.

In India about 10 lakh people are directly and indirectly associated with the Sound and Light Service providing Industry.

This Industry contains highly qualified people, technicians, engineers and people who learned from their experiences in their day to day tryst with work of providing sound and light to various events, festivals etc.

Somewhere around in the year 1999 various stalwarts from Sound and Light Industry and Service providers of Sound and light felt the need of having an association which shall be a unison of all sound and light vendors/manufacturers/ service providers to address the following below matters.

  • To fight for the sound and light service providers / vendors / manufacturers right to do business with self esteem.
  • To put a unified fight against the various types of oppressive forces against the sound and light industry.
  • To be a Guardian of rights of members of sound and light service providers/ manufacturer and traders.
  • To protect the right to earn and right to lead a quality life of the service providers / vendors/ manufacturers & traders. .
  • To address several issues being faced by the sound and light service providers / vendors / manufacturers and traders regarding sound pollution and various other misinterpreted laws.
  • To protect the sound light service providers / vendors / manufacturers and traders from high handedness of authorities of law.
  • To have a representative body for representation before Government bodies and Judicial Forum.
  • To be able to participate in the drafting of laws concerning and governing the Sound and Light Industry.

To achieve this the founders of this association sensed the need of organizing the people of this industry and thus the journey began. The journey though not easy has seen much high and lows with a series of meetings, debates, brainstorming sessions held across various states of India and amongst the veterans and stalwarts of Industry and much needed support of even the smallest of the service provider of Light and Sound. Thus the journey and efforts finally bore fruit and culminated in to forming the Professional Audio and Lighting Association ( PALA)
